Accessibility

Our commitment to an accessible application.

We strive to make KISO accessible to as many people as possible, guided by the four core principles of accessible web offerings: perceivability, operability, understandability and robustness.

Perceivability

Through the principle of perceivability, we want to ensure that functions and information are presented in such a way that they can be noticed by every user. The so-called two-channel principle is important to us here: we make information perceivable through two different sensory channels.

  • We provide images and graphics with alternative text.
  • We do not convey information through colour alone, in order to accommodate colour vision deficiency.
  • We ensure sufficient contrast between foreground and background.
  • We make text sizes adjustable.

Operability

So that users can interact with our application, we make sure that it is also operable for people with disabilities.

  • We ensure keyboard operability, which people with motor impairments or blindness in particular rely on.
  • We avoid flashing and blinking in order to prevent seizures for people with epilepsy.
  • We support orientation through unambiguous, clear link text and through various navigation paths.

Understandability

We ensure that content is readable and understandable for the largest possible audience. We therefore use the clearest and simplest language possible and provide explanations of technical terms where necessary. For us, understandability also includes the predictability of the user interface with a consistent presentation and navigation, as well as support in avoiding input errors.

Robustness

We design our application so that it works reliably with current browsers and assistive technologies such as screen readers, relying on standards-compliant, semantic markup.

Feedback

If you notice any barriers that prevent you from using the application, we would be glad to hear from you at [email protected]. We take your feedback seriously and endeavour to resolve reported issues promptly.
