GEO & AI Rank Tracker for agencies and SEO professionals
The AI Search Tool: Analyse prompt mentions, share of voice and citations in AI search engines. Optimise campaigns and dominate the rankings.
What exactly is an AI rank tracker?
Our AI rank tracker measures the visibility of a brand, website or product in the answers of AI search engines (such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini or Perplexity). Instead of tracking traditional Google positions (rank 1 to 10), the tool analyzes how often and in what context the AI generates and recommends you as an answer.
Why is classic SEO no longer enough?
Search is shifting from “listing links” to “generating answers.” Users get finished solutions directly in the chat window without clicking through to a website (zero-click searches). Classic SEO optimizes for the Google algorithm – our tool helps you adapt your strategy (GEO) so the large language models (LLMs) cite you as a trustworthy source too.
Which AI search engines and models are tracked?
Our tool currently monitors the most relevant text-based AI systems: ChatGPT (OpenAI), Google Gemini and Perplexity AI. Every analysis is broken down per provider, so you see exactly which AI system you're strong in.
What does “Share of Voice” mean in the AI context?
Share of Voice (SoV) shows, as a percentage, how strongly your brand is mentioned by the AI compared to competitors for specific prompts or topic areas. A high SoV means the AI sees you as the definitive industry authority for that topic.
Are direct links (citations) measured too?
Yes. Beyond plain text mentions (brand mentions), we also track whether the AI models generate clickable citations to your website. That way you can measure precisely whether your GEO efforts actually drive traffic to your site.
Aren't AI answers different every time?
Correct – language models are dynamic and don't generate static search result pages. Our tracker solves this through statistical relevance: we test prompts at regular, automated intervals and evaluate average visibility and sentiment (the tone of the mention) over a longer period.
What are Analysis Profiles?
Analysis Profiles are reusable customer personas that shape how an analysis run's AI questions are generated. Instead of generic prompts, the AI asks questions from your target audience's perspective – with their goals, pain points, decision criteria, and tone. This lets you measure your visibility exactly where your real customers are searching. Alongside two built-in profiles, you can create, customize, and share your own. Analysis Profiles are available from the Pro plan upwards.
Is the tool suitable for client reporting?
Absolutely. The tool is built to translate complex AI data into understandable metrics. You can create clear dashboards that visualize Share of Voice and the citations you've won – ideal for communicating results directly to clients.
What are competitor audits?
A competitor audit takes a close look at a single competitor for a specific topic: you see why the AI recommends them in that area – which content, sources and strengths cause them to be cited and suggested. That way you understand what you need to catch up on to get recommended yourself for that topic.
Can I monitor my direct competitors?
Yes, competitor tracking is a core feature. You add your most important competitors and see in direct comparison who the AI prefers to recommend for transactional or informational prompts. That's how you uncover content gaps the competition has already taken.
What is KI.SO – and how is it different from classic SEO?
KI.SO stands for AI search optimization (GEO instead of SEO). Rather than Google rankings, KI.SO measures whether and how your brand shows up in the answers of generative AI like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. More and more people no longer ask a search engine but an AI assistant directly – and if you're not recommended there, you stay invisible, no matter how strong your traditional SEO is.
Which AI systems does KI.SO Monitor?
ChatGPT (OpenAI) is included in every plan, Google Gemini from the Starter plan, and Perplexity from the Pro plan. Every analysis is broken down per provider, so you see exactly where you're strong and where competitors win.
How is my visibility score calculated?
Each analysis asks 30–100 real user questions across several AI models and condenses the results into four metrics: Share of Voice (your slice of all mentions versus competitors), Mention rate (how often your brand gets named at all), Source presence (how often you appear in the cited sources) and Lead rate (how often you're named ahead of the competition).
How quickly do I get results?
Very quickly: you create a monitor in under a minute via autofill – KI.SO reads your website and suggests industry, topics and competitors. The analysis then runs in the background and is usually done in 1–2 minutes. After that you read the report with your score, the per-provider breakdown, and the questions you win or lose.
What does KI.SO cost – can I try it for free?
You start for a one-time €4.99 and then keep using KI.SO free forever on the Free plan – no subscription, no hidden costs. As soon as you need more monitors, more frequent analyses or additional AI providers, you can upgrade to Starter, Pro or Agency anytime.
