Measure AI traffic – without cookies
Visibility in AI answers is one thing. Whether it turns into visits to your website is what KI.SO's AI traffic measurement shows.
What is measured
- Visits from AI assistants: daily totals per source, such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Claude
- Landing pages: which pages visitors from AI answers arrive on
- AI crawlers: which bots fetch your website – separated into training, search and live fetches on behalf of a user
Privacy from the start
The measurement works without cookies, stores no IP addresses and does not recognize anyone on a return visit. On a page view it merely checks whether the referrer belongs to an AI assistant; only daily totals per source and page path are stored. KI.SO also supplies a ready-made text passage for your privacy policy.
Two ways to set it up
The script is a single line in the head of your website and works with any CMS and any site builder. The WordPress plugin additionally counts requests from AI crawlers – these do not execute JavaScript and remain invisible to a browser script. The combination of the two is the most informative.
Honest numbers
Many AI apps do not send a referrer; such visits show up as “direct” in every analytics tool. The numbers in KI.SO are therefore a lower bound – and labeled as such. What matters is the trend: your analyses and implemented recommendations are marked in the chart, so you can see whether an action is followed by more AI traffic.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an entry in my cookie banner for this?
The script sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and builds no profiles. According to the prevailing view, no consent is required for this; if in doubt, please check with your legal counsel.
Why can't I simply see AI traffic in Google Analytics?
In part you can, but scattered across referrers that you have to filter yourself – and you do not see crawler requests there at all. KI.SO bundles both and places them next to your visibility analyses.
Does the script slow down my website?
No. The script is very small, loads asynchronously and only sends a signal when a visit really does come from an AI assistant.
